Schwarzman Scholarship program 2026 (fully funded)

Schwarzman Scholarship is a prestigious, fully funded, one year master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Launched in 2016 by American financier Stephen A. Schwarzman, the program was specifically designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century. Recognizing China’s pivotal role in global trends, the scholarship aims to build a network of future leaders who can bridge the gap between China and the rest of the world across business, politics, and civil society.

The program is hosted at Schwarzman College, a state of the art residential college built explicitly for this cohort within the campus of Tsinghua University. Scholars live together in a diverse environment, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration. The academic curriculum focuses on Global Affairs, with concentrations available in Public Policy, Economics and Business, or International Studies. Beyond the classroom, students participate in an “in-country” study tour, cultural immersion activities, and mentorship from high-level global leaders. The selection committee looks for more than just academic brilliance; they seek individuals with extraordinary leadership potential, intellectual agility, and the character to influence the course of history. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to navigate complex global issues and a desire to contribute to a peaceful and prosperous world.

As a fully funded opportunity, the Schwarzman Scholarship removes all financial barriers to entry, covering everything from tuition to a personal stipend. This allow scholars to immerse themselves completely in the intensive one-year program. By the time they graduate, Schwarzman Scholars are equipped with a first-hand understanding of China and a lifelong global network, positioning them to lead in an increasingly interconnected global society.
